Oh how I love dupes – Naked 3 palette

Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been on top posting form, I’ve been ill for a few days and needed some time to recover (thanks, your sympathy is greatly appreciated), but I’m back with a review for you!

The other day I picked up the w7 In The Nude eye colour palette, it’s jam packed with rusty, coppery colours and is a beautiful dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette (and almost 90% cheaper at just £4!!)

Personally – lighter and dainty eye looks suit me more than heavy smokey looks. This palette has all the colours I need to create a smashing natural smokey eye look which is perfect for the everyday, and also for going out. The lighter colours are brilliant for highlighting the arch of your brow bone or the inner corners of your eyes, and the more matte colours are suitable for contouring the eye when applied in the crease.

Now, the look of this palette is very appealing for someone (aka me) who is too tight to stretch my budget and buy the Naked 3, however (it seems there is always a however for dupes) although the colours are lovely and pretty in the box, alot has to be applied to make that colour stand out. I also found that once I had blended all the shadows which I used on my eye, my eye just looked really pink and sparkly with no actual definition between the several colours I used (which is great if you love pink and sparkly – but it’s not really for me). I guess when I’m feeling in the mood for some hard work, and am actually willing to spend the extra time packing on more pigment then this palette is a perfect dupe for the Naked 3, but I would much rather just apply each colour one time. Although, you do get what you pay for, and since I only paid £4, I would consider it great value for money!

Excuse the incredibly dark picture – but this is the packaging for the product, which is actually what drew me in when I saw it on the shelf. It’s a lovely, stylish rose gold colour, and looks fab on my dressing table and really stands out. It also does a good job at protecting the shadows, as it stops them from getting all smushed up.

I got mine from a local home store called B&M, but you can also find it online here (at a little higher cost).

Keep an eye out for more reviews and makeup looks, stay sweet.

Am I a hoarder or just really obsessed with Soap & Glory?

Okay, I guess you could say I’m kind of a hoarder, I wouldn’t take offence. In fact, what could be better than having a massive collection of delicious smelling products to treat your skin? Over these past few months, my collection has grown and grown, and I am not ashamed.

soapandgloryhaul

In this post, I’ll be giving you the lowdown of my top of the month Soap and Glory products (you’re lucky it’s only three, it was impossible to narrow it down…)

So lets start with my first favourite from my collection: Hand Dream Super Cream.

handdream

This hand cream is scented with grape, macadamia and shea butter – a brilliant combination with a fresh and clean smell. It contains these things called AHAs (no, not what you’re thinking, although that would be pretty cool), these are found in yogurt and milk, and exfoliate your skin through the work of tiny little particles. You can’t actually feel the exfoliating bits, but you will most definitely notice how soft and smooth your skin feels after the use of this product. It’s “MOIST-U-RUB 24h rejuvenating FRUITIPLEX” is what makes this cream smell so amazing and absorb so quickly, so you’re not left sitting around after applying it waiting for it to dry. The fragrance also lasts a long time – plus it’s formula helps to even out skin tone. With the coming winter months, your poor paws are bound to get abit dry and cracked, so this product is definitely worth the investment to rescue them. Plus it’s only £7 for 100ml! My next favourite: Scrub Your Nose In It facial scrub:

scruburnose

This little beauty also contains AHAs, and works fantastically on an oily T-Zone. The tiny little grains within the scrub leave my skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after use, and when I wake up the next morning my skin is as smooth as a baby’s butt. It’s “D-CLOG” formula is responsible for the wonders that this scrub can do, it is so effective and I noticed a difference in my skin after just one day of using it. This one is quite pricey for a face wash, at £9, but it really is worth it. My third favourite for this month is the Smoothie Star deep moisture Body Milk.

smoothie star

This one is possibly the most dreamy smell I have ever smelt in my whole life. It smells good enough to eat – like a milkshake or something Ben & Jerry’s related. It’s scented with almond, cocoa, yogurt and honey, and I wish it was edible because it’s that good. However, it also does an amazing job of both hydrating dry and cracked skin, to locking in moisture to smooth skin. I apply it at night after a shower or bath and then let it fully sink in whilst I sleep (this makes my bed covers smell amazing). It features the “Waterlock moisture trapping matrix” which is what makes this cream such a star, because when applied to slightly damp skin, it locks in that moisture and leaves your skin feeling bouncy and peachy. At £10 it is quite expensive for a moisturizer, but mine has lasted me just over a year and I reckon I’ve still got a few months use to go. And besides, you only have one skin – it deserves a treat every now and then am I right? So that’s it for today,

Makeup Revolution Flawless palette – sorcery or just really amazing stuff??

Okay so this is probably the bestest thing to ever bless my makeup bag, like ever. Feast your eyes upon this little beauty…

I am so obsessed with this right now, it’s perfect for everything. From an everyday, subtle and natural look to a sultry, sexy and glam going out look. Personally, I use this more for my go to everyday look, which is what I wear to school and my little job. It’s lighter colours are fab for highlighting your eyebrows’ arch, whether you like a matte or sparkling highlight – this baby’s got you covered. It has so many different tones of brown to complete a natural contoured eye look, or even to fill in your eyebrows. The glittery colours suit every season – pale pinks for a spring look, light sandy colours to match the beach in summer and olive greens and deep reds for a festive, chic look. It’s a dream to apply, it spreads easily and the pigmentation is brill. I even wore it when I went to a Thorpe Park Fright Night this Halloween, the air was thick with fog and I went on dozens of super fast roller coasters, and when I got home I was extremely proud to see not one crease, and no little trails of pigment down my face from wind resistance. Best. Feeling. Ever!

See, even the box is uber stylish. Plus – it is such a steal for only £8 for 32 eye shadows!! Makeup Revolution can be found in Superdrug, but I’ll link it below. It’s perfect for someone who is just starting out to wear makeup, because it’s easy to apply, looks natural and is a trustworthy brand which can be relied on. It’s also good for old timers, you would be surprised at the quality for such a pretty price. Is this the workings of Harry potter and his squad, or simply makeup magic?

I could go on all day about this little gem, so I’ll cut this one short so you’re not her here for the rest of your lives. Let me know if you want anymore information on this palette or looks which you could create from it, I’m more than happy to answer questions or give tips and tutorials. I am a big fan of this brand, and will most definitely be posting more about them.
