Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been on top posting form, I’ve been ill for a few days and needed some time to recover (thanks, your sympathy is greatly appreciated), but I’m back with a review for you!
The other day I picked up the w7 In The Nude eye colour palette, it’s jam packed with rusty, coppery colours and is a beautiful dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette (and almost 90% cheaper at just £4!!)
Personally – lighter and dainty eye looks suit me more than heavy smokey looks. This palette has all the colours I need to create a smashing natural smokey eye look which is perfect for the everyday, and also for going out. The lighter colours are brilliant for highlighting the arch of your brow bone or the inner corners of your eyes, and the more matte colours are suitable for contouring the eye when applied in the crease.
Now, the look of this palette is very appealing for someone (aka me) who is too tight to stretch my budget and buy the Naked 3, however (it seems there is always a however for dupes) although the colours are lovely and pretty in the box, alot has to be applied to make that colour stand out. I also found that once I had blended all the shadows which I used on my eye, my eye just looked really pink and sparkly with no actual definition between the several colours I used (which is great if you love pink and sparkly – but it’s not really for me). I guess when I’m feeling in the mood for some hard work, and am actually willing to spend the extra time packing on more pigment then this palette is a perfect dupe for the Naked 3, but I would much rather just apply each colour one time. Although, you do get what you pay for, and since I only paid £4, I would consider it great value for money!
Excuse the incredibly dark picture – but this is the packaging for the product, which is actually what drew me in when I saw it on the shelf. It’s a lovely, stylish rose gold colour, and looks fab on my dressing table and really stands out. It also does a good job at protecting the shadows, as it stops them from getting all smushed up.
I got mine from a local home store called B&M, but you can also find it online here (at a little higher cost).
Keep an eye out for more reviews and makeup looks, stay sweet.
Over and out x
